Unforgettable moment at The Open del 2018

Golf Travel & Major how, when and why by Francesca Galeano

Golf and Travel ........

What a perfect couple !!!!! I think I am a lucky person, I met these two great loves that are in love and agree and are not jealous in my life, it is a perfect love triangle !!!! Golf is not jealous of travel and vice versa, it is like having married the blonde and the brunette, staying in the sun without getting burnt, eating and not getting fat, in short, if you are passionate about traveling you can travel without ever giving up golf, on the contrary, the journey becomes an experience in the experience you will be able to see beautiful places and to play in the courses of all the world without making you miss wonderful experiences to discover the destination.

If you're reading me, you're probably passionate about traveling and you are searching a new ideas for your next vacation with your Golf bag.

If you are not a golfer read on you could discover a beautiful new world where the passion for travel is combined with one of the most noble and practiced sports in the world, (and NO is not for rich people, and NO is not for old people). If you are a golfer you have probably already traveled in the company of your Golf bag, but what I want to offer you is the experience of the destination not only the golfing one.

Would you like to book all-inclusive Tours: from the green fee to the balloon ride on Kruger Park? Do you know you can admire your Champions without spending a fortune? Do you know that you can relive the thrill of the Mille Miglia on an extraordinary journey in the company of your Golf bag?

On this web site you can find tours to travel around the world and play on the best and beautiful Courses of the world.

In the next articles i will tell you my Golf experiences and my life as traveller, but now I'd love to give you some advices how to follow your champions without spend to much money.

I was lucky to assist different Major:

The open 2015 2016 2017 2018

Parigi Ryder cup 2018

I'm very honest, if you don't have time and competence the best thing to do is giving your trust to a professional, like ME for example  :)

Not a normal travel agent but someone who knows what happen at these competions and who is able to move around.

If you have a lot of time, you are not afraid of over-booking, you are not afraid of unexpected events and you are able to resolve them, know very well every cities and destination where these events are performed, if that is your case i'll give you some valuable advice.

If you want to attend a major you should book the event well in advance, I mean a year or so before, they are events that attract people from all over the world, to give you an example the tickets of THE open 2019 have sold out 48 hours after the sale, it is true that it is not always in this way, sure the great request is probably due to the fact that The Open returns to Northern Ireland after 68 years and that it will be held in one of the most spectacular and prestigious courses in Europe the Royal Portrush Golf Club but why take the risk? If you have decided to go but you are an anxious person  you can insure your trip with a travel insurance in this way, in the event of unforeseen circumstances you will be reimbursed. Insurance that also covers the cost of event tickets in any case believe me that reselling your tickets would be the least of your problems because you could anyway resell them on sites like viagogo getticket.

Book hotels far away from the event but well connected: usually hotels close to the event also cost 4 times more expensive than the standard rate, find a large city well connected to the event and you will be able to save a lot.

If you have the opportunity, lengthen the journey by a couple of days so that you can take advantage of the destination to take a round of golf, and also because it rarely happens but it can happen that due to bad weather the tournament ends on Monday - St Andrews 2015 (photo of the collection) I tell you unfortunatly, from experience I saw Zac Johnson raise the Cup from a monitor at Edinburgh airport after three days of wind at 20 km h for the joy of all the participants and the public ......

Excited: I understand that the desire to share and let your virtual friends know that you are at a Major is strong but I suggest you, after the 500 selfies, the 72 live videos and the 800 € spent at the pro shop in t-shirts and hats that you will show off proudly in your club competitions to let everyone know that YOU were present at the event, after all this put away the phone look around and smile at people if you look into the eyes of the spectators you will see passionate people like you coming from all over the world maybe not cheering the same champion but it doesn't matter in this sport the adversary is always respected, in this sport we are not divided by barriers and the police is not in a battle situation with the fear that a fight between supporters may break out.

Enjoy your favorite Champion but also all the others you will have the possibility to see them from very close in practice or off the ropes following them along the way, you will be able to scream to Tiger “In the holeeeeee“ even if he is pulling the drive to a par ( with Tiger the public always does so :)). Smile, cheer, sing, excited, you are witnessing an event that writes the pages of the history of golf, and you are there and you will perceive it in Phil's eyes, in the concentration of caddies, when they rejoice. There is an energy, a magic atmosphere that only if you witness one of these events live can you understand.
