Golf in Emilia Romagna - Region of the Month

Emilia Romagna is a region located in the North-Eastern side of the country, overlooking the Adriatic Sea to the East and the Appennini Mountains to the West.

Its locations are very well-known for outstanding hospitality and customer service and are a great tourist destination all year round, whether it’s for a relaxing holiday, a trip through Italy or a golfing vacation.

Let’s briefly explore this wonderful region together:

Emilia-Romagna Curiosities and History

Emilia-Romagna was once divided into the two separate states of Emilia and Romagna, who have always been connected due to historical occurrences and territorial dominance.

Celts and Etruscans settled in the region until it was conquered by some Celtic tribes first, then by the Romans.

Afterwards, Emilia and Romagna have been dominated by different authorities, with Emilia being under municipal authority and Romagna under papal authority, making the region the field of severe wars through time.

Emilia and Romagna were officially unified in 1970, becoming a single state and preserving both of the original regions’ names.
