Italy Golf Map

Despite being a very well-known tourist destination, to this day, many people are still asking (and googling) whether Italy has golf courses or not.

For this reason, we figured we’d create a complete Italy Golf Map to include and showcase every single golf course with more than 9 holes.

Ready to find your next favorite golf course?

Does Italy Have Golf Courses?

There are hundreds of golf courses in Italy as of today, most of which are located in the northern part of the country.

That is mostly due to historical and morphological reasons, as many areas are predominantly mountainous or hilly and since Italy was divided into different kingdoms until 1861 and their culture and traditions were divergent.

That said, we do have golf courses in pretty much every region and every side of the country, with various climates and landscapes to enjoy.

The numeric answer to the question ‘’Are There Golf Courses In Italy?’’ is, we have 235 official golf courses - recognized by the Italian golfing federation - with 9 holes or more, of which 140 have at least 18 holes.

Should we count smaller golf courses and practice facilities, this number would increase by a lot.

Where To Golf In Italy

One of the main reasons we only counted golf courses with more than 9 holes is the purpose of this list.

Those smaller courses and practice facilities can be as good as it can get, but we have so many golf courses to recommend for a golfing trip in Italy that we had to sum it up.

Another thing you should know is that every Italian region has its unique traditions, landscape, but most importantly food and drinks. All these, together with their great golf courses, make Italy a wonderful destination for a golfing trip that will please all your senses and leave a permanent mark in your memory.

You can view our interactive map here.

Depending on your travel needs and expectations, you might prefer to visit the northern, central or southern side of the country. Having a very different climate and morphology throughout the peninsula, you have plenty of choices available.
